Today is April 11th. I could technically be celebrating 8 track tape day, or the Second Battle of Rivas in Costa Rica but I decided that I would acknowledge a few weekly holidays for the second week in April:
National Bra Fit Week - This is a good one ladies. Treat yourself to a bra fitting, there's nothing like letting a pushy sales lady feel you up.
But really, a great fitting bra is where it's at.
Reading is Fun week- I thought this was fate. This holiday sums up what my week is going to be about. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's nest (by Ken Kesey) is due tomorrow for my English class. Luckily I've finished this one, and recommend it to anyone wholeheartedly. It is the first novel I have thoroughly enjoyed in AP this year.
My reading focus is currently on Moll Flanders by Daniel Defoe. Defoe is well known around the world for his famous work Robinson Crusoe.
Moll Flanders was written in 1722, making it one of the first major novels to be published in literature. It is a new kind of read for me, one involving incest, prostitution, and thievery. A bit of a tricky read, with long sentences broken up by a minimum of 10 commas (the most I've found so far is 24!) but I am enjoying it so far.
Hopefully it will be finished, analyzed and critiqued by myself in 7 days for my big project lecture to my class..
renting this the minute I finish the book! |
National Library Week- See rant above.
Go sign out a library book :) Reading is the best way to satiate oneself with knowledge!
All for now,
Aimee OC
